Professor Hamlin sent an e-mail to a few of the organizers of the English Club recently about being part of an on-campus recycling program. Is anyone interested in doing this?
The e-mail from Professor Hamlin stated,
"Mansfield Campus testing volunteer recycling program with Campus Clubs! Aluminum and plastic beverage containers represent a potentially significant recycling stream on the Mansfield Campus. Official (approved by Student Services) Campus Clubs may adopt a can & bottle recycling location. In addition to providing a valuable campus service, Clubs will retain proceeds from the sale of these recycled materials.
Plant Operations & Maintenance will provide bottle & can collection boxes and coordinate locations. Clubs must keep their recycling collection locations clean, serviced (emptied at least weekly) and transported to their off-campus recycler."
We could use the proceeds to buy more books after the book sale on the 17th, or for a different type of community service.
Idea time What if we took rotations of the English club staff. Could everyone sign up for a week if i sent out an email. Erin what do you think about that? Then we could just cover the weeks that the club can't do. everyone involved in English club should be able to sign up for at least one week. And what are these proceeds you are speaking of? Im just a bit curious?
happy days jesi
